Nature of a Sista' is the second studio album by rapper Queen Latifah, released in 1991 by Tommy Boy Records.
It includes elements of boom-bap, reggae, jazz, jazz rap, R&B, new jack swing, and house music, and the lyrics center around romance and confidence about her rhyming skills.
Nature of a Sista' peaked at #117 on the Billboard 200, sold over 500,000 copies worldwide, and was RIAA-certified gold.
Latifah was dropped from Tommy Boy Records following the album’s release due to low sales; this would later spark her to follow up with the classic record Black Reign.
