“In the Zone” is Britney’s fourth studio album that was released on November 12, 2003. It is considered to be Britney’s most personal album to date by her fanbase while it is also a fan favourite, alongside “Blackout” (2007).
The first song recorded for the album was “Touch of My Hand”, which Britney claims set the mood for the album. She co-wrote all but four tracks, and often changed the lyrics to suit herself. Brit stated she was an autobiographical songwriter, although not to the point where she felt self-exploited.
Four singles were released from the album, one of which is “Toxic”, Britney’s most successful single to date, that’s also considered to be her signature song alongside “…Baby One More Time”.
