In August of 2001, Dani met music producer Rhemario Webber through a mutual friend. Together, they worked on a 10-track demo which resulted in her signing a contract with Universal Records in February of 2002.
After signing to the label, Universal Records suggested that Dani contribute vocals to rapper and labelmate Nelly’s 2002 number-one hit single “Hot in Herre” which she agreed to.
After the success of “Hot in Herre,” Universal Records allowed Dani to prepare her debut album. She wrote 11 out of 13 tracks & also incorporated the 10-track demo to her debut album which would be titled “Is There Another?!” and was scheduled to be released in March of 2003.
But due to the commercial failure of both singles,
“Honk Your Horn” and “Yo, Yo, Yo”, Dani’s debut album passed its scheduled release date, being shelved completely. She later left the label
