Caution is Mariah Carey’s fifteenth studio album and her first official studio album since 2014’s Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse. Carey confirmed the long awaited album’s name and release date on her Twitter.
Carey describes the project as a “labor of love” and that “[the] fans just want to hear me express myself and speak from the heart and sing from the heart.”
Commercially, the album debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 with 51,000 first-week sales. However, the album became her shortest run for a studio album on the chart, falling off the chart after three weeks. It also became her first studio album not to have any of its singles enter the US Hot 100.
