Cybersoldiermac is Sybyr’s first album of 2018, officially released on June 16.
Prior to the album’s release, it was originally released on Bandcamp as a mixtape of the same name, with a different track listing and an earlier version of the cover art. Sybyr eventually removed the mixtape and decided to create a proper album instead.
Stylistically all over the place, Cybersoldiermac consists of 13 tracks which vary from the simple banger “Unleveled”, the melodic “Ships”, or the dark and brooding “No VR”.
Prior live streams showed that some of the songs on the record were intended for other projects (such as “I Like Smirnoff A Lot” originally being intended for NETGEER), hence the scattered sounds of the record.
After the release of the album, Sybyr realized the majority of fans were disappointed in the release, going far as to state in a live stream showing off the song “Talisman” from Deal With It:
I want y'all to trash Deal With It so fucking bad, like y'all trashed Cyber like y'all trash every fucking thing else, you ungrateful pieces of shit. But, for those who are genuinely connected with it and felt the disconnect since the Cyber joint. I understand, I’m kinda back now. To prove it, here’s what I’m dealing with, here’s what I’m dealing with nigga, HERE’S WHAT I’M DEALING WITH.
Prior to its release, the songs “Unleveled”, “Burdens On Burdens”, and “No VR” existed as singles. Both “Unleveled” and “No VR” received their own music video, while the song “Ace” has a music video currently in production.
