On May 13, 1997, Juvenile dropped his sophomore album, Solja Rags The 14-track project was the New Orleans native’s first body of work under Cash Money Records and features fellow Hot Boy members B.G., Mannie Fresh, Turk and more. With one successful album under his belt, Juvie linked up with a 15-year-old Lil Wayne, the youngest member of the crew at the time, for “Hide Out or Ride Out.” Fueled by dope street tracks, Solja Rags went on to sell nearly 200,000 copies.
Each track on Solja Rags was produced by Mannie Fresh. While the album strengthened Juvie’s local buzz, he was still overlooked on the national scene.
