The Life Of Pi'erre 4 is Pi'erre Bourne’s debut studio album and the fourth installment in the series of the same name. The album is written, performed, produced, and enginered entirely by Pi'erre himself according to a post he made to Twitter on June 21, 2019. The project’s evident lack of guest appearances is due to his intentions of saving them for the series' fifth installment.
On March 9, 2019, Pi'erre took to Instagram to announce that the long-awaited project had been completed after more than three years of recording, revision, and preparation. He then revealed the album’s solid purple artwork in a tweet made on March 14, 2019. Despite being leaked online three days prior, he would also reveal the album’s tracklist in a post made to Instagram on April 1, 2019. On June 13, 2019, Pi'erre finally confirmed the project’s official release date of June 21, 2019, after posting a screenshot of Siri to his Instagram story, featuring the caption:
Everyone ask Siri “When does summer begin?” To get my album date
Later that same day, Pi'erre hosted an Instagram live stream and confirmed his intentions of releasing in June once again after pinning a viewers comment, which read:
JUNE 21ST
After being teased in September 2017, the project would be subject to several tracklist changes and cover art redesigns, and much to the frustration of fans, its release would be prone to frequent delays. The most recent delay occurred on March 10, 2019, in which Pi'erre reinstated a handful of Instagram posts and recaptioned them all to “April.” He would further confirm April as the project’s release month in an Instagram live stream a week prior, leading fans to believe a release was imminent. This would not be the case, however, as a result of compilcations with clearing the since-removed sample on “Doublemint” which were due to a songwriter’s passing.
