One Long Dream is the debut album from SonReal, released after years of multiple mixtapes and EPs. The name may seem familiar as it was seen on the cover of his mixtape One Long Day, where “One Long Dream” was written, with “Dream” marked out and replaced with “Day.” He’s also mentioned both titles multiple times throughout his songs, such as on “For the Town”: Turned one long day to one long dream The album has been in the works since the release of One Long Day, as noted in a 2014 interview with Thisis50: One Long Day describes what I’ve been through, it lets you know who I am, and I tell you my story, I tell you my past, and One Long Dream is a lot more victorious. It’s like we’re living the dream now, we’re starting to get close to our dreams. “Potential,” “Problems,” “Supersize” and “Who Care” were all released in advance of the album, while the tracks “Can I Get a Witness” and “All I Got” were also featured on his 2016 EP The Name. “So Far” was released just before “Potential,” but did not receive a spot on the tracklist.
