Ethernet Vol. 1 is the fourth mixtape by acclaimed Palm-Beach rapper, Wifisfuneral.
Ethernet was mentioned many times in early 2017 by wifi, but that became less prominent as he worked on his next EP. It was rumoured that Ethernet was renamed and released in late 2017 as Boy Who Cried Wolf, but its existence was reconfirmed in various tweets since then as its own project.
From the very end of 2017 and into 2018, supporters got a taste of what the album would be like. Snippets for 100 Ways and Genesis were released in early 2018. The latter, amongst others including 25 Lighters, Knots and Juveniles were released as singles in the months leading up to the album.
On April 24th, 2018, wifi announced that the project would be released May 25th via his Twitter:
However, on the expected release day, the album was pushed back. Wifi’s manager said on Twitter that samples were yet to be cleared and that the album could not be released until June 8th, two weeks later.
