H.B.O. (Haitian Body Odor) is Mach-Hommy’s ninth album. It was originally released on September 15, 2016, but was later re-released on March 10, 2017. It is the first project in Mach’s tetralogy.
Although no prior announcements have been made about the album’s release, on the song “Easter Gunday,” Griselda Records founder Westside Gunn announced that Mach-Hommy would be dropping his Griselda debut in May 2016, but that ended up not being the case:
See, his shit drop in the May
But until then, we gon' kill y'all niggas with everything
When the album first came out, it was not released on streaming platforms like how most albums would. Instead, Hommy sold copies of the album through his Instagram DM’s for $300 per copy. The album was later re-released on Mach’s SoundCloud page, although two tracks off the album were removed from the tracklist at the time.
This album marks the first in his discography to be released under the Griselda umbrella and was the only album to be released by the label for a while due to the dispute between Hommy and Gunn, up until 2021 where Mach would go onto release Pray For Haiti as his second release.
On August 17, 2021, near the album’s fifth year anniversary, H.B.O. was re-released on all streaming platforms, with all of the tracks being available to stream.
Consisting of sixteen tracks, the album consists of features from Griselda’s very own Conway the Machine and Keisha Plum, with production ranging from Camoflauge Monk, Roc Marciano, Daringer, and many more.
