Dave Grohl, lead man of the Foo Fighters and drummer for Nirvana, got his start in metal, with a small band called Scream. This album was born of his love for metal, and having written material too heavy for the Foo Fighters to play. He decided to create a metal album with some of his favorite metal artists. He wrote each song for Probot with a particular vocalist in mind and recorded the accompanying tracks in the style of the vocalist’s band. With a few exceptions (such as Lemmy playing bass on Shake Your Blood), Dave played all the instruments.
