Brave is Jennifer’s sixth studio album released on October 4, 2007, by Epic Records.
Inspired by her marriage with Marc Anthony and taking influences by Jamiroquai and Sade, it features prominently samples from old classics, mixed up with Funk, Disco, Blues and R&B music. Some of those samples include Eddie Kendricks’ “Keep on Truckin'” (on “Do It Well”), and Michael Jackson’s “I Wanna Be Where You Are” (on “Gotta Be There”).
The album boasts productions from new collaborators like Ryan Tedder, Midi Mafia, Bloodshy, and The Clutch among others, while the only featured artist is American rapper Ludacris on the official remix of “Do It Well” included on the deluxe version of the project.
Two worldwide singles were released for the promotion of the album the songs “Do It Well” and “Hold It Don’t Drop It”. While Jennifer embarked on a tour with her then husband Marc Anthony. Three months later though the tour had to end early due to Jennifer being heavily pregnant with their twins, son Maximilian David, and daughter, Emme Maribel.
