24K is the debut solo studio album by Cuban-American rapper Cuban Link, recorded from 1997 to 1999, through Atlantic Records and Terror Squad Entertainment. It’s basically a concept album revolving themes around Cuban Link’s early life, club anthems, love stories and some tribute songs.
The album’s production was handled by DJ Shok, Curt Gowdy, JayO, The Neptunes and Cuban Link himself.
24K was planned to be released on January 16, 2001, but unfortunately got shelved due to Cuban’s beef with Fat Joe and contract disputes. The album was eventually released digitally by Cuban Link, featuring all twenty-four songs plus some skits. Features guest appearances from SunKiss, Tony Sunshine, Ja Rule, Carl Thomas, P!nk and fellow Terror Squad members Big Pun, Triple Seis, Prospect, Fat Joe & Tony Sunshine.
Despite the album’s scheduling issues, Cuban received success from some of the songs. Music videos were released for the songs “Still Telling Lies” ft. Tony Sunshine, “Why Me?” ft. Fat Joe and the Big Pun tribute song “Flowers for the Dead”.
