Sosa’s self-released mixtape Back from the Dead marked the debut of “I Don’t Like,”, bringing the controversial then-16-year-old rapper and the Chicago drill scene itself into national attention. Produced entirely by Young Chop, the influential collection features a Soulja Boy remix of the local hit “3Hunna.”
Chief Keef named the mixtape Back from the Dead off of an incident on Dec 2, 2011 where Keef was spotted on 6100 block of South Indiana holding a coat and grasping his waistband. When a police officer tried to stop and question him, the rapper dropped the coat, flashed a blue-steel handgun and sprinted through the vacant lot next door, according to police reports.
When officers gave chase, Chief Keef who was 16 at the time, twice turned and pointed the pistol at the officers. The officers “discharged their weapons,“ but missed.
This incident lead people to believe Chief Keef was shot and killed, but in reality he was arrested and was locked up in Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center where he was subsequently released, on house arrest.
