Although Miles Davis died in 1991, his career and legacy was paid tribute constantly, and young jazz artist Robert Glasper had this in mind when creating a studio collaboration.
In June 2016, Everything’s Beautiful was released, an 11 song reinterpretation of the works of Miles Davis, including A-list guest features such as Phonte, Erykah Badu and more. When asked, Glasper said the record was about;
…taking Miles' ideas and shaking them up, showing more people his influence
Everything’s Beautiful received critical acclaim and charted at #1 on the jazz billboard charts (no.5 on the overall top 200).
Although there are no signs of Glasper working with Miles Davis again, many artists still pay tribute to his legendary catalog today.
