Lazerproof was a mixtape from both Major Lazer & La Roux that brought together a slew of numerous contemporary styles in dance music from around the world through an electronic-infused dancehall lens released on the 26th of May 2010. The special thing about Lazerproof is that it was never pushed by any large publishing companies onto the masses – in fact, it’s an ill known mixtape – and instead Major Lazer simply let it sit on Soundcloud, as one beautifully crafted mixtape just under 50 minutes long. The goal was to push dancehall further to the masses via using well known pop songs from various artists – including Drake and Gucci Mane – to show that dancehall really goes with everything
