The Purge is the fourth mixtape by Kid Vishis, released on October 28, 2016 by Sick ‘Em Records exclusively through SoundCloud. It was the first and last project that Vishis had released that year alone in an attempt to stay out of the public spotlight, with his debut full-length album Timing Is Everything being released two years prior in the middle of the year on July 22. Notable features from Detroit (his hometown) include his brother Royce Da 5'9", Conway of Griselda Records, Kuniva of group D12, Ty Farris, and group Horseshoe G.A.N.G. The only credited producer is on the track “Back II The Future“, by Marcus Smilez. 2DOPEBOYZ’s JES7 gave it a late positive review on November 27 of the same year, stating that Vishis is a “seriously underrated emcee”, and that The Purge was a project that was “sadly strayed far off his radar”.
