IDEAL - Curtismith
IDEAL

IDEAL, the first mixtape ever released by Curtismith, showcases the rapper at his most raw form. In this rawest form of expression, we are given lenses of Mito Fabie’s persona tackling his own struggles of confidence, doubt, success and the ambitions that would become the very soul of his character both as a rapper and as a person. His soundcloud page further details: Many of the tracks sound like a succession of interrogations, addressed to himself—with questions like “am I good enough?” on “Currently”—it’s almost like watching Curtismith perform a monologue in front of a mirror. With a narrative refined by samples culled from movies like Goodfellas and The Great Dictator, and a host of collaborators like CRWN, Sampras, and Similarobjects—the verses flow, consistent in its storytelling, and curious all throughout. The mixtape borrows its beats from other producers like Beat Sampras, CRWN, Timbaland, Flamingosis, etc., and the result is generally stellar, as the mixtape would come to produce fan-favorites such as “Philo(watts)”, “Escobar”, and “Jus Chillin”.
