100 Miles and Runnin' is the 1990 EP that N.W.A. released through Ruthless Records following the success of their 1988 debut album Straight Outta Compton. This project was released after Ice Cube left the group in 1989 after he refused to sign what he felt was an unfavorable contract. He subsequently started a successful solo career while the rest of N.W.A. dissed him for his decision to leave the group, most notably on “Real Niggaz” (which was later featured on the group’s next album, EFIL4ZAGGIN) and the EP’s title track, which was the only single released. The EP peaked at #27 on the Billboard 200 chart and was later certified platinum.
