For his seventh studio album release, Lecrae based his new album on being an “outcast” and not fitting in with the norm, as an imperfect rapper among Christians and even as a Christian amidst a secular industry. He simply doesn’t seem to fit in with any crowd. This is what inspired his new album.
Anomaly topped the Billboard 200 charts in the first week of its release, sitting just above Maroon 5’s V with 88,000 copies. Anomaly also managed to stay atop iTune’s Hip-Hop charts in its first week. On September 20, 2016, Anomaly became RIAA Certified Gold with 500,000 copies sold since its release date.
