DeVante Swing

Donald Earle DeGrate, Jr. is one quarter of the renowned R&B group JoDeCi and is the quartet’s main songwriter and producer. Alongside his brother Dalvin and his friends the Hailey brothers, he took the band to world stardom. DeGrate, aka DeVante Swing, is the molder of the group’s distinct sound and is well-known in the production business for his ability to blend hip-hop and R&B into hypnotizing instrumentals. In 1991, DeVante founded his own recorded label and collection of artists. DeVante and Swing Mob helped launch the careers of Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Ginuwine, and numerous others. Known for his musical talents and his female-friendly style, DeVante Swing is arguably one of the most influential producers of 90’s R&B.
