Hailing from Atlanta with Swiss roots, the dynamic family duo known as The Kooly Bros consists of brothers G Fresh and Sanders. G Fresh, the older brother, was born in Geneva, Switzerland, where the family tree originates. At the age of three, the family moved to America, and later Sanders was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the years, they have received strong co-sign and support from Young Thug, with the Grammy Award-winning rapper stating, “I’ve been a fan of the Kooly Bros' talent and passion since we did open mics together in Atlanta! That’s why I’ve collaborated with them more than once. It’s their time!” G Fresh boasts an impressive list of producer credits, including platinum and gold records with Lil Durk, and has been active in the music industry for nearly two decades. Collaborating with major artists such as Future, Meek Mill, Migos, and 2 Chainz, G Fresh’s experience inspired both brothers to start making music themselves. In the early 2000s, G Fresh and Sanders kickstarted their music career as a group, driven by their shared passion for music. When asked about their inspirations, the duo states, “We inspire each other. Our family inspires us. And our late grandmother inspired and helped us believe in ourselves.” In 2020, Young Thug further endorsed the Hip-Hop/Pop duo by featuring on The Kooly Bros' single and music video for “Drunk Mess.” This record served as the lead single for their debut album, “G Fresh x Sanders,” directed by Bank!. I Am Hip Hop Magazine describes “Drunk Mess” as an embodiment of the Kooly Bros' free-spirited, live-hard mentality, offering fans a much-needed respite from the global pandemic. Blending elements of trap and pop music, the track was produced by US production powerhouse Nard & B (known for their work with T Shirt and Migos). G Fresh’s signature high-pitched vocal tone, combined with the bass-heavy production and Sanders' slick wordplay, creates a perfect introduction to their brand of #PopHOP Rap music. With an in-house approach encompassing writing and production, The Kooly Bros stand as a formidable duo in 2023. They remain true to themselves and express their honesty through their music.
