The Pygmalion Effect - Burnstradamus
The Pygmalion Effect

Burnstradamus' highly anticipated project The Pygmalion Effect hopes to plant an optimistic seed into its listeners with its message of positive reinforcement with an uplifting spirit. Most people are unaware of The Pygmalion Effect and what it truly represents… First theorized in 1985 by Rosenthal and Jacobsen, who described it as: “ When we expect certain behaviors of others, we are likely to act in ways that make the expected behavior more likely to occur.” With this, teachers experimented on students and chose some to respond positively too and others negatively. In the end, the results showed that both students were affected by the behavior of the teacher, whether it was positive or negative. Burnstradamus ties this very effect into his music on TPE and reinforces the optimistic mindset of others to do good unto others, to be positive in life and just enjoy the path you are on. He expresses the need to find oneself and to stray from negative influences. His selection of beats provides us various instruments that gives The Pygmalion Effect a feel that is unique to Columbus, Ohio and hiphop culture itself. TPE is just the beginning for Burnstradamus who was also quoted saying “TPE drops in June and the BTS collab projects will be dropping July-August”. With much anticipation resting on the group collaboration projects, it looks to be a very bright future for Burnstradamus and his group Breaking The Silence which include artists Ramdis and OG Chops.
