Fantasy Ride - Ciara
Fantasy Ride

Fantasy Ride is the third studio album by Ciara. It was first released in the United Kingdom on May 3, 2009, with it’s second release taking place in the USA on May 5, 2009. A deluxe version was also released in Japan and other regions. The album was a moderate success, peaking at number three on the Billboard 200.. The album helped Ciara become the fourth female artist in the ‘00s to have three albums consecutively debut in the top three on the Billboard 200. Three singles were released, including the Grammy-nominated hit “Love Sex Magic”. The album was originally planned as a 3-disc collection consisting of albums: “Groove City”, “Kingdom Of Dance” and “Crunktown” all with totally different sounds. Several of the original demos that had leaked from 2007-2009 representing each sound did make the final track listing including “High Price” [Crunktown], “Work” [Kingdom Of Dance] and “Lover’s Thing” [Groove City]. The album was the first time Ciara had expressed disdain with Jive Records for the handling of her discography. Not only had 20+ tracks leaked from the album sessions before its release meaning she had to not only scrap the 3-disc idea and have last minute sessions to include brand new tracks but also several of the singles failed to chart and there was little to no promotion provided for any of the project. She subsequently recorded her last contractually obligated album Basic Instinct and left Jive for Epic Records.
