Non-Fiction - Mausberg
Non-Fiction

Mausberg (born Johnny Burns, 1979) had his only solo album released a few months after his untimely death that occurred on July 4, 2000 from a shooting at his Compton home. Non-Fiction dives into everyday life on the streets of Compton, where Mausberg was born and raised. Topics range from love life on the streets to gang violence and even the apocalypse. Working with close friend and mentor DJ Quik who produced many of the tracks on this album, Mausberg was able to create some classic West Coast anthems that have even been sampled by Compton-native, Kendrick Lamar.
