Ugly God first teased Demon Time under the name of “777” on September 13, 2017, when he posted its artwork. He continued to tease this EP and two other projects on February 20, 2018: On December 14, 2018, Ugly God confirmed that 777 would feature eleven tracks. Ugly God has posted snippets of numerous songs on Instagram and Snapchat in the months following The Booty Tape’s release. Ugly God started teasing the EP again in early September 2020 and revealed that the name of the project changed to Demon Time.
