DXXM is Scarlxrd’s debut major-label studio album, released on May 4, 2018, following up his September 2017 mixtape, Lxrdszn. This album marks the first in his discography to be released under Island Records, the first in his discography to become available in a physical format, and the only album from Scar to be released in 2018. Scarlxrd first started teasing the album, in a now-deleted Instagram post, late January. The album was supported by three singles “angels sleep at FXUR/AM”, which was later deleted but was quickly added back after the release of the album, “we waste time FADED” and “a BRAINDEAD civilisatixn”. Unlike his previous mixtapes, DXXM contained a significantly larger amount of growls/low screams, something that he adopted later on in his future albums. DXXM was a huge success to Scarlxrd, as fans consider this to be one of Scarlxrd’s best albums, going as far to be the first in Scar’s discography to chart in the Ultratop charts. Thanks to the success of DXXM, on February 5, 2021, Scarlxrd released the long-awaited sequel to the album, consisting of more heavier tracks than its predecessor.
