Like a Woman is Kacy Hill’s full-length debut, following her Bloo EP in 2015. She first spoke about the album on Twitter, talking about it during the production process. On May 12 she announced the release date: June 30. “Like a Woman” and “Hard to Love” were the first singles from the album, released simultaneously. Kanye West is notably cited as “executive producer.” Hill talked in detail about how he pushed her art into a new direction with the album after the release of “Lion,” a song which would go on to be reproduced completely for the album. He helped me figure out who I wanted to work with and I redid all of the production of the album. I think I made it a lot more minimal and took a lot of the pieces out that didn’t need to be there.
