Aminé traveled up to Brightwood, Oregon and rented a cabin to record his 2015 project, Calling Brio. With production from Kaytranada, Pasqué, boybeatsworld, and Aminé himself, the 10-track project balances his signature future bounce sound with more tribal sounding samples and even some dark, trap sounds. “Brio” is an old Latin phrase meaning “spirited” or “alive”. Aminé said that the project served as sort of a therapeutic release, to distract himself from everything else going on in his life. I’ve been calling brio all year, hope he picks up soon.
