Robb Bank$ drops a sick new EP called “2phoneshawty.” Back in January, former Raider Klan associate Robb Bank$ dropped a video for a track called “2phoneshawty.” That song doesn’t appear on his latest project, although it bears the same title. The 2phoneshawty EP just dropped, and on SoundCloud it bears one tag: Black Metal. Although Bank$‘ aggressive, gritty music bears little similarity to the actual black metal of bands like Burzum and Mayhem, it’s actually a pretty accurate descriptor in the context of hip-hop. Bank$ favors rough, distorted production, and addresses darker subject matter than your average rapper. Especially on highlights “Snap” and “Salty,” Bank$ is really onto something here.
