Twista’s “The Day After” was released October 4th, 2005 on Atlantic Records. He worked with Chicago producer Toxic as well as Pharrell Williams, Scott Storch, Mr. Collipark and Darkchild. Collaborators were Pitbull, Mariah Carey, Lil’ Kim, Trey Songz, Syleena Johnson, Johnny P, Jamie Foxx, Juvenile, Snoop Dogg, Sleepy Eyed Jones & longtime Chicago associates – the Speedknot Mobsters. “The Day After” was the first album Twista didn’t use music produced by The Legendary Traxter. This album received moderate to good reviews from critics, in spite of not selling as much as his previous highly praised release “Kamikaze”. There is a second version of this album that was “chopped & screwed” by Paul Wall released October 3rd, 2005.
